Mosaics are a great way to replace the plain glass in your picnic table or any surface area that needs some pizazz. There is a greater range of  flexibility  in the design when using this technique! First comes the idea, which came from the client (he wanted a beach scene). So I thought about the concept and  started drawing. I wanted to use many elements that make you think of the beach, water, boates, palm trees, sea oats and of course, a beautiful sunset.

The hardest part is time, and lots of it. I had never mosaiced a fading sky this way. I placed every piece carefully to make sure I received the effect I hoping for. Then I turned over every piece to add weatherproof glue which will put a huge strain on your back. I'll be the first to tell you ... it took forever. But the final result is worth every little scratch ,ache and compliment. The cliet was very happy with the final result!

The idea was for the sunset to be going down while the night fall slowly sat in.  From left to right  I used darker purples and blues  that start to fade into lighter purple and blues. Then you begin to see the introduction of pinks and yellow that lead up to the sunset under the palm trees
